Paramount Theater Alternative Gift Fair raises $13K for area nonprofits

Chris Graham

paramountEarlier this month, The Paramount Theater opened its doors to forty-two local nonprofits for the third annual Alternative Gift Fair and with the generous support of the local community raised over $13,550.

At a time of the year when many area nonprofits are in need of additional financial support, the Theater was thrilled to host nonprofits and community members in a central place to learn about one-another and facilitate a day of giving.

The day welcomed in hundreds of shoppers. Close to 100 shoppers/community members made over 350 individual donations to the organizations. In total, over $13,550 was raised in the seven hours of the gift fair. In total donation, this was the largest amount raised in the history of the event.

Due to the incredible generosity of our event sponsors, Virginia National Bank and Wendy and Jack Brown, The Paramount was able to cover all costs associated with credit card fees for donations. Nonprofits received 100% of the total money donated to their cause.
