An 85-year-old West Virginia woman is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Frederick County on Monday at 5:49 p.m.

Gretchen L. Largent, of Berkley Springs, was partially ejected during the crash. She died at the scene, according to Virginia State Police.

The crash occurred on Route 522, N. Frederick Pike, two-tenths of a mile south of Ebenezer Church Road.

Largent was driving a Chevrolet Malibu and was traveling north when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, ran off the right side of the roadway again and collided with an embankment before overturning, VSP reports.

Two passengers, a 93-year-old male and a 76-year-old female, both suffered serious injuries. They were transported to Winchester Medical Center for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
