ODU picked fifth in C-USA East in preseason football poll

odu logoODU football was picked to finish fifth in the seven-team Conference USA East Division, C-USA Announced on Wednesday.  Marshall was picked to win the East while North Texas was picked to win the West.  The voting was conducted by the league’s 13 head coaches.

ODU was picked to finish fifth in the C-USA East with 33 points just ahead of uab and FIU.  Marshall was unanimously voted the preseason favorite while Middle Tennessee was picked second, followed by Florida Atlantic and Western Kentucky.

North Texas was picked to win the C-USA West by just a point over the defending C-USA Champions, Rice, and just four points over UTSA.  Louisiana Tech was picked fourth followed by Southern Miss and UTEP.

The Monarchs did not have a player selected on the All-Conference preseason team.  Marshall led the way with seven players while UTSA had five.
