Norfolk Police are investigating a crash on Sunday afternoon that left a motorcyclist dead.

Around 2:50 p.m., first responders were called to the 3600 block of Granby Street for the report of a serious crash involving a motorcycle.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The man, later identified as Malik H. Jenkins, 18, of Norfolk, was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The preliminary investigation determined the driver lost control of the motorcycle and hit a utility pole.
