Norfolk | SUV with five teens takes gunfire on I-64; life-threatening injury reported

Five teenagers in a sports-utility vehicle came under fire Thursday night on Interstate 64 in Norfolk, leaving one person with life-threatening injuries.

The silver SUV was fired upon by an unknown vehicle, and the left rear passenger was struck, according to Virginia State Police.

The incident occurred at 7:41 p.m. on the ramp from westbound I-64 to Military Highway at exit 281.

The shooting caused the driver of the SUV to run off the road where they crashed.

The incident remains under investigation.
