Fifty-six percent of all voters, and 61 percent of independents, are signaling a big thumbs down to Donald Trump’s move to use armed National Guard troops as a show of force in the nation’s capital.
This is among the bad-news findings for the Trump team from a poll released on Wednesday by Quinnipiac University, which also registered Trump’s job approval at 37 percent – pretty much the true believers, with a few holdouts – and shows that two-thirds of us don’t approve of what his administration is doing with the Jeffrey Epstein files.
More bad news for Trump in the poll:
- On crime: Trump is underwater by 12 points – 42 percent approve of his approach to crime, 54 percent disapprove.
- Russia-Ukraine: again, underwater – 40 percent approve of Trump’s approach to resolving the war, 52 percent disapprove.
- Israel-Hamas: you guessed it – 34 percent approve of whatever it is they see Trump doing, 57 percent disapprove.
- Economy: same song – 39 percent approve of Trump’s work on economic issues, 57 percent disapprove.
Trump has his diehards, and that’s about it.
