2016Donald Trump has a one-point lead on Ben Carson in the Republican Party presidential nomination race, according to a new poll from Fox News.

Trump is at 24 percent in the poll, with Carson at 23 percent. Ted Cruz is a distant third at 10 percent, with Marco Rubio at 9 percent and Jeb Bush at 8 percent.

The poll was released on Oct. 15. The most recent Fox News GOP poll, released on Sept. 15, had Trump with an eight-point lead on Carson, 26 percent to 18 percent.

Carly Fiorina had enjoyed a brief bump following a strong performance in the CNN Republican debate last month, standing at 9 percent in that September Fox News poll, but she was back down to 5 percent in the latest poll.

John Kasich had also gotten a boost from his CNN debate performance, rising to 4 percent in the September Fox News poll, but Kasich is at just 1 percent in the new polling.

Chris Christie went from 5 percent in September to 1 percent in October.

On the Democratic Party side of the ledger, Hillary Clinton has a 20-point lead on Bernie Sanders, 45 percent to 25 percent, in the new Fox News poll, with Joe Biden third at 19 percent.

The September Fox News poll had Clinton at 44 percent, Sanders at 30 percent and Biden at 18 percent.
