saaclogoThe Staunton Augusta Art Center announces a new exhibition opening Friday, September 20, 5-7pm in the art galleries of the R.R. Smith Center for History and Art, 20 S. New Street in historic Downtown Staunton.

Standing before Gabriel is a new thematic body of work by nationally known glass artist Phillip Nolley.  The Staunton Augusta Art Center is honored that Nolley has chosen this hometown venue for the premier of this exhibition created from mixed-media including wood, iron, bronze, cast and blown glass.  The exhibit will run thru November 7.  Regular gallery hours are 10am-5pm Monday-Friday and 10am-4pm Saturday.  There is no admission charge to attend the reception or to visit the gallery.

The Art Center is hosting a Supper with the Artist on Wednesday, October 9, at 6:00pm in the 2nd floor lecture hall of the Smith Center.  At that event, Phillip Nolley will offer insights about the expressive intentions of this particular exhibition and about his artistic process.  The dinner will be catered by Eric Stamer.  The cost for the event is $25 per person ($20 for members).

Reservations are required by October 2 by calling the Staunton Augusta Art Center at 540-885-2028.
