New Dominion Bookshop to host author James McBride at The Haven

New Dominion BookshopNew Dominion Bookshop will host an evening with National Book Award-winning author James McBride at The Haven on Tuesday, March 10, from 7-8:30 p.m.

McBride is the author of the New York Times bestselling books The Good Lord Bird and The Color of Water.

McBride’s new novel, Deacon King Kong, will be released from Riverhead Books in March. Tickets are available through Eventbrite.com.

McBride is an accomplished musician and author whose books have been translated into 19 languages and sold millions of copies around the world. He is the author of the National Book Award-winning and New York Times-bestselling The Good Lord Bird, which Showtime is turning into a television series; the bestselling American classic The Color of Water; and the bestsellers Song Yet Sung and Miracle at St. Anna, which was adapted into a film by Spike Lee with a screenplay written by McBride.

He is also the author of Kill ‘Em and Leave, a biography of James Brown. Awarded a National Humanities Medal by President Obama “for humanizing the complexities of discussing race in America,” McBride is a Distinguished Writer in Residence at New York University
