washington nationalsMax Scherzer was nowhere near his best, but it was good enough to get win #20, as Washington defeated Miami, 10-7, on Sunday.

Scherzer (20-7, 2.96 ERA) gave up five runs on nine hits in five innings, striking out seven and walking two.

He has now won 20 twice in his career. Scherzer was 21-3 in 2013 en route to winning the AL Cy Young Award in Detroit.

Washington (95-67) will host the Los Angeles Dodgers (91-71) in Game 1 of the NLDS on Friday at Nats Park.

Danny Espinosa (.209 BA, .684 OPS) hit his 24th homer, walked twice and scored three runs.
