nationals_logoHow nice was it to be Nats starter Jordan Zimmerman Tuesday night? Zimmerman took the mound in Atlanta in the bottom of the first with a 4-0 lead, and cruised from there, holding the Braves scoreless on six hits in seven and two-thirds innings, in a 6-1 Washington win.

Zimmerman (6-5, 3.16 ERA) struck out six and didn’t issue a walk in his stint.

Shelby Miller (5-4, 2.20 ERA) had a rough first, giving up an RBI double to Danny Espinosa, an RBI single to Wilson Ramos and a two-run homer to Clint Robinson to fall into the 4-0 hole.

Miller gave up five runs, four earned, on eight hits in five innings, striking out 10 and walking three.

Washington (43-34, 3.5 game lead in the NL East) had 11 hits on the night.
