Murder and Mayhem at “Murder on the 13th”

Chris Graham

The Wayne Theatre Alliance presents the fourth in its Murder at Fairfax Hall series of Inspector Kathy mysteries on Friday, Nov 13, at Fairfax Hall.

The Inspector Kathy Mysteries feature a local victim and suspects who, with tongue-in-cheek, provide an evening of fun, mystery, and audience participation. After appetizers, drinks and a buffet dinner, the audience will question, search and help solve the mystery. The best solution will win a prize.

In Kathy Johnson’s latest, Murder on the 13th, the prominent real-estate developer, Bill Hausrath, is found dead at the base of the Tower Room at Fairfax Hall. Rumors in communities on both sides of Afton Mountain suggest that Bill was working to discover the names of the members of a secret society that was seeking to stop the projected greenway from Charlottesville to Crozet. According to some unidentified informants, Bill’s search reached into the dark recesses of the Crozet Railroad Tunnel and the alleged contents of a secret room from World War II.

Murder on the 13th will begin at 6:30 p.m. with appetizers and drinks. Dinner will follow at 7 p.m. The investigation begins at 8 p.m. The price of the evening is $50 per person, including two drinks. Tables for eight can be reserved for an additional fee. Deadline for reservations is Tuesday, Nov. 10.

Fairfax Hall is located at 1101 Reservoir St. in Waynesboro.
