The two are set to meet at a Create-a-Pro Wrestling show in New York on May 1, on a card advertising former TNA champ Frankie Kazarian and former AEW women’s champ Kris Statlander.
The background here had the two talking about each other on podcasts earlier in the year, with Nemeth escalating things in comments made in interviews on “Busted Open Radio” on SiriusXM.
MJF addressed those comments in a rant posted to Twitter earlier today in which he dismissed Nemeth as “an overhyped mid carder” and “delusional,” and said to Nemeth that he couldn’t “lace my boots or carry my mic.”
“Say my name again on your little show and I’ll beat the f—ing s–t out of you. You know where to find me,” the post concluded.
This reminds me of the back-and-forth that FTR and The Briscoes engineered on social media to build a feud that culminated in an unforgettable 2022 trilogy that played out on a series of Ring of Honor pay-per-views.
It’s all a work, of course, but it feels real – certainly more so than the manufactured drama that passes for worked heat that we get on TV each week.
