Donald McEachinCongressman A. Donald McEachin (VA-04) hosted a Hampton Rounds workforce roundtable with several representatives from private business, K-12, higher education, the economic development community, and local and state government to discuss training the workforce of the future.

“Employers across the country continue to struggle to find individuals with the skills necessary to fill certain positions and job-seekers struggle to find good-paying jobs. We need to ensure that workers in our community are trained to perform these good-paying jobs as they become available,” said Congressman Donald McEachin. “I am very appreciative of the participants for taking time to talk with me. I hosted this roundtable discussion because I am committed to preparing the workers in our congressional district for the opportunities that will be presented to them.”

McEachin was a small business owner before his time in Congress. During his time in Congress he has fought to support the needs of small businesses, and small business owners by introducing legislationthat would facilitate small business growth and development and expand access to significant tax credits.

“Government can create incentives and structures that give Virginia and the United States a top-notch, 21stcentury workforce—one that empowers our businesses to compete with companies around the world,” said Congressman McEachin.
