New MCW Heavyweight Champion Matt hardy defends his title for the first time, The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels teams with Independent Standout Papadon in a special challenge Tag Team Match and Rikishi gets a shot at the Tag Team Championship at Maryland Championship Wrestling’s Friday Night Fights to raise money for Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
Baltimore, MD May 21, 2014– The self proclaimed “King Of Maryland Wrestling” Ryan McBride hot off the heels of several big wins challenges the new MCW Champion matt hardy in what is undoubtedly the biggest match of McBride’s career. Ryan will be accompanied by his new advocate 98 Rock morning show host Justin Schlegal who also recognizes himself as The King of All Maryland DJ’s. The King’s Of Maryland will be accompanied to the ring by head of security Ken Dixon and most likely The Hell Cats will not be far behind This all happens as MCW presents Friday Night Fights on June 20, 2014 with an 8PM Bell Time and it is a benefit show Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
Friday Night Fights will take place at The Greektown Square located at 701-703 Ponca Street in Baltimore, MD 21224 with a8:00PM Bell time. At our last event Xtreme Measures in Waldorf, MD after Drolix defeated christian york to end his 16 month reign as MCW Champion an Impromptu match was set up as Drolix let his ego get the best of him. matt hardy defeated Drolix for the title and thus making Drolix the shortest reigning Champion in MCW history at twenty minutes and thirty one seconds.“ It means so much to me to be MCW Heavyweight Champion, My brother Jeff and I started with MCW back in 1997-1998 before we got our break in WWE so our routes are deep in MCW” says matt hardy.
In what is sure to be the show stealer former Impact Wrestling Star “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels teams with Independent Wrestling standout “The Greek God” Papaon to take on the self proclaimed “King Of Maryland Wrestling Tag Teams” Sexy Steve & Jimmy Starz, The Hell Cats. “There comes a time in everyone’s career that they have that break out match that engraves their names into the minds of wrestling fans. This is going to be that match for The Hell Cats and both Chris Daniel & Papadon are going to find out why you either run with us or you run from us” says Jimmy Starz.
There will be 9 action packed matches including a Rage Championship match as the newly crowned Rage Champion Chuck Lennox defends against christian york. . The Father of the WWE Tag Team Champions Jimmy & Jey Uso gets his shot at MCW Team Gold as he teams with Nui Tofiga to Challenge Black Wall Street’s Napalm & Solo. There will also be a special ladies match as Reby Sky takes on Jessie Kaye. More matches will be announced in the coming weeks.
Matt Hardy, Rikishi, Chris Daniels, Papadon and all of the stars of MCW will be appearing at the Pre Show Fan fest. The Fan fest will be from 6:30 to 8:00PM just before the event starts and wrestling fans will be able to meet all of the stars and get photo opportunities with them as well. All that is needed to attend the fan fest is a ticket to the event.
