Man in custody for gun possession after dispute at Scottsville Elementary School

A 35-year-old Buckingham County man is in police custody following a domestic dispute at Scottsville Elementary School this morning.

Christopher J. Kirtley was arrested for felony possession of a firearm on school property.

Albemarle County Police Department officers were called to the scene at approximately 11:15 a.m. Officers made contact with Kirtley in the parking lot who disclosed he had a firearm in his vehicle.

Officers secured the weapon and took Kirtley into custody without incident.

Kirtley is being held at the Albemarle-County Regional Jail without bond.
