Madison County: 73-year-old pedestrian struck by truck, killed in Route 230 accident

A Pratts man is dead after being struck by a truck Friday night in Madison County.

Eldon L. Yoder, 73, died at the scene.

Virginia State Police is investigating the fatal pedestrian crash.

According to police, Yoder was walking southbound on Route 230, Orange Road, when he was struck by a 41-year-old Culpeper man driving a Ford F-350 truck.

The driver of the Ford has not been identified. He stopped immediately following the crash. He was not injured, according to police.

The incident occurred at 5:55 p.m., a tenth of a mile east of Route 626, Oneals Road.
