Virginia is going to have a vice-presidential nominee soon.
Just has to be in the cards.
I mean, Tim Kaine is all over the airwaves, for one.
Last week, the wife turns on “Fox News Sunday,” and there our governor is, Sunday morning, 9 a.m., sitting in studio.
I’m sorry, but you’re not driving up 95 on a Sunday morning in February unless something is in the hopper. Or you hope that the same is in the case.
And then there’s our esteemed former governor and future senator, MarkNotJohn Warner.
I have it on decent authority that his people have been talked to by Barack Obama’s people about his interest in running as his VP, you know, assuming.
So there’s two.
And I can’t help but think that our boy Jimmy Webb is a possibility in that slot as well.
He might be the best one, actually. A Reagan Republican-turned-back-Democrat elected in a Southern state who’s not afraid of guns.
Yeah, he’s a keeper.
I have no idea about the other side of the equation – you know, who the GOP is going to run alongside John McCain.
My instinct tells me that they’re going to need to run a conservative Southerner to balance out McCain.
And the sad thing is, I can’t think of anybody conservative enough or Southern enough to fit the bill.
Which makes me think …
Wouldn’t George Allen have looked good here?
Course, he’d have looked good at the top of the ticket, too.
Ah, Macaca.
