Lynchburg: Two pedestrians in serious condition after being struck by motor vehicle

Two women are being treated at the hospital after they were struck while walking Saturday night on Campbell Avenue in Lynchburg.

The Lynchburg Police Department and Lynchburg Fire Department responded to the crash at 10:09 p.m.

LPD and LFD located two adult female pedestrians, ages 66 and 44, lying in the roadway with significant injuries.

Lynchburg Fire Department responders provided immediate medical aid and transported both individuals to Lynchburg General Hospital, where they remain in stable but serious condition.

The driver of the vehicle, a 66-year-old male, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. His name has not been released.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation.
