An Amherst man has been arrested in an Oct. 1 fatal shooting that took place in Lynchburg, and arrest warrants have been issued for two additional suspects.

The Lynchburg Police Department arrested Kevin Cantrell Brown Jr., 22, today and charged him with murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, reckless handling of a firearm, shooting into an occupied vehicle and discharge of a firearm in public.

Brown is currently being held in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond.

The charges stem from the shooting death of Anthony Dwight Davis on Water Gate Drive.

The Lynchburg Police Department is on the hunt for two additional Lynchburg residents wanted in connection with the shooting incident.

Arrest warrants have been issued for Jayon Zykelse Phelps, 20, and Jermaine Shamont Hawkins Jr., 23, who are wanted on similar charges: murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, reckless handling of a firearm, shooting into an occupied vehicle, discharge of a firearm in public and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the two suspects is asked to contact Detective Owen at (434) 798-5900.

The investigation is ongoing.
