Lynchburg man arrested, linked to two shooting incidents in October, November

A Lynchburg man has been arrested in connection with a series of shootings and is being held at Blue Ridge Regional Jail with no bond.

Lorenzo Callands, 36, was identified as the suspect in two incidents: one in the 4500 block of Hilltop Drive on Oct. 8 and a second in the 1000 block of Chowan Avenue on Nov. 5.

Based on the evidence gathered during the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for Callands’ residence by the Lynchburg Police Department.

On Nov. 26, investigators executed the search warrant and located three firearms, one of which was reported stolen.

A small quantity of marijuana was also found inside the residence.

Callands was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a stolen firearm.

Further charges are pending in connection with the shootings, as the investigation continues.
