Lynchburg is pleased to announce two recent additions to the Hillcats staff leading up to the 2015 season. Josh Duffy has been named the Director of Group Sales, while Daniel Kurish joins the Lynchburg organization as the broadcast assistant.
Duffy joins the full-time front office as Director of Group Sales after previously volunteering with the Hillcats in 2012 and working as a full-time intern in 2014. He replaces Brad Goodale, who left for another sales job in the Lynchburg area. During the 2014 campaign, Duffy served in a variety of roles, including managing the ticket office on game days. A graduate of Liberty University, Duffy earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management and completed his Master of Sport Administration last May. Aside from the Hillcats, Duffy has worked various jobs in the community and also spent a summer working in the Cape Cod League for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox.
“I’m excited and grateful to be coming back with the Hillcats this season,” said Duffy. “I have always enjoyed the game of baseball, and I look forward to the great atmosphere and fun here at City Stadium.”
Kurish will serve as the Hillcats broadcast assistant for the 2015 season after spending 2014 with the York Revolution of the Atlantic League. In addition to his play-by-play duties for the Revolution, Kurish was also the Operations Manager at WOYK 1350. He spent the 2013 season with the American League West Champion Oakland Athletics as the broadcast assistant.
After the season, Kurish went to SportsNet New York where he assisted with the Geno Auriemma Show, covering the University of Connecticut’s women’s basketball program during their undefeated National Championship season. While completing his senior year at La Salle University in 2012, Kurish was the video intern for the Philadelphia Eagles, where he filmed practices and provided scouting pictures on the sidelines during games. Kurish announced baseball, softball, volleyball, and men’s and women’s basketball and soccer for WEXP Radio during his time at La Salle and was behind the mic for the men’s basketball program’s first postseason game in 20 years in 2012.
Kurish was honored by the Philadelphia Broadcasters Association in 2012 with the Harry Kalas Award, an award presented to the best collegiate broadcaster in the Philadelphia area. The award bears the name of Kurish’s personal hero.
“Words can’t describe how excited I am to join the Hillcats broadcast, but I’ll try anyway,” said Kurish. “I’ve heard nothing but great things about the people in the organization and really look forward to working with everyone.”

Lynchburg‘s home opener is slated for Thursday, April 16 when the Hillcats take on the Potomac Nationals at 6:30 p.m. Season tickets as well as single-game and book tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling 434-528-1144.
