Lynchburg District Traffic Alert: Dec. 28-Jan. 1

Amherst County: Don Austin, Residency Administrator

Route 501/130 (Snowden) – Traffic control/flaggers in use. Expect delays. End: 4/21/17.   

Appomattox County: Don Austin, Residency Administrator

None

 

Buckingham County: Kevin Wright, Residency Administrator 

Andersonville AHQ– Crews will boom axe.

Various locations –Crews will make surface repairs and respond to customer requests.

 

Campbell County: Don Austin, Residency Administrator

Route 643 over Falling River –Road closed, detour in place through 7/22/16 for bridge replacement and approach work. Traffic control devices/flaggers in use. Expect delays.

Route 1501 – Road closed from Dec. 28-Jan. 15 for culvert replacement.

 

Charlotte County:  Kevin Wright, Residency Administrator

Route 638 over Little Cub Creek – Road closed Jan. 4 through April 8 for structure replacement. Detour in place using Routes 630, 629, and 628. 

Craftons Gate AHQ -Crews will mow at various locations.

Various –Crews will make surface repairs, work shoulders, cut brush and respond to customers.

 

Cumberland County: Kevin Wright, Residency Administrator

Various locations –Crews will work surfaces, mow and respond to customers.

 

Halifax County: Kenneth Martin, Residency Administrator

Route 58 (Cluster Springs AHQ) – Crews will boom axe.

Route 691 over Tobey Creek(Rt 659/658 intersection) – Road closed Dec. 7-March 4 for structure replacement. Detour in place via Routes 659, 662 and 659.

Bethel AHQ – Crews will apply stone to dirt roads and repair potholes. 

Cluster Springs AHQ – Crews will apply rock around mailboxes. 

Volens AHQ – Crews will apply stone to roads and shoulders and cut right of way.

Various –Crews will respond to customer requests.

 

Nelson County: Don Austin, Residency Administrator

None

 

Pittsylvania County: Kenneth Martin, Residency Administrator

Route 726 – Construction underway. Signs/traffic control devices in place. Est.comp-4/29/16. 

Brosville AHQ – Crews will ditch and mow storm water basins.

Gretna AHQ – Crews will work ditches.

Kentuck AHQ – Crews will make shoulder repairs on secondary routes and work ditches.

Mt. Airy AHQ – Crews will place stone at mailboxes and driveways, repair shoulders and boom axe.

Rondo AHQ – Crews will boom axe and repair low shoulders.

Various –Crews will work surfaces and respond to customers.

 

Prince Edward County: Kevin Wright, Residency Administrator

Route 632 over Bush River – Road closed Jan. 4 through April 8 for structure replacement. Detour in place using Routes 633, 15, 647and 630. Route 632 will be closed between the intersection of Route 633 and Route 630.  

Various routes – Crews will work surfaces, mow, cut brush, and respond to customers.

 

District-wide activities: 

Bridge and guardrail maintenance – Crews will perform bridge/guardrail maintenance. 

Bridge-mounted signs – Foundation work underway. Traffic control devices will assist motorists.

Pavement markings – Contractors are applying permanent pavement markings districtwide.
