Lumos Networks introduces networks performance portal

AFP

Lumos Networks (NASDAQ: LMOS), a leading provider of fiber-based products across the Mid-Atlantic region, today introduced SLA 2.0 Portal which will provide customers with a tool to view Metro Ethernet network performance.

Lumos networks SLA 2.0 Portal provides a dashboard to enhance the customer experience, delivering Metro Ethernet SLA performance information in an easy to use portal. The portal is viewable from desktop/laptop equipment and also from Internet capable mobile devices to allow for access to Ethernet Network performance information when you’re out of the office.

“Service level agreements (SLAs) are now more important than ever as most customers are looking to have network performance guarantees from their service provider,” said Lumos Networks Vice President of Product Management and Engineering Craig Drinkhall.  “In addition to wanting performance guarantees, customers are looking to receive easily accessible information from the Service Provider on how the network is performing.  Many RFP/RFI requests now include a question on the availability of a network portal to measure and report on SLA performance. Now we have this capability available, with the Lumos Networks SLA 2.0 Portal,” he added.

In addition to providing customers with visibility into the status and performance of their Ethernet Services through the portal, reporting can be generated to review network performance on key SLA metrics. Reports can be generated and downloaded directly from the SLA Portal, or the customer can download a comma delimited file (.csv) which can be loaded into a spreadsheet to allow creation of their own reports.

Detailed SLA performance information is available on:

·         Service Availability history/statistics

·         Throughput history/statistics

·         Frame Delay (Latency)

·         Inter-Frame Delay (Jitter)

·         Packet Loss

While this portal provides customers with a great tool, it also strengthens the portfolio of solutions Lumos Networks delivers to customers. “The Portal gives Lumos Networks an advantage over other regional providers not offering these capabilities.  The powerful insights and trending information ensure that Lumos Networks customers have the information to make good decisions on network expansions and enhancements.  We believe those considering service providers will see this as one more reason to select Lumos Networks as a key provider,” said Lumos Networks Chief Revenue Officer Joe McCourt.
