longwood logoThe Longwood men’s and women’s basketball teams have picked up three additional game broadcasts on ESPN3 and American Sports Network (ASN) as part of the Big South Conference’s partnership with the two networks.

In addition to men’s basketball’s nationally televised Dec. 15 matchup against Oklahoma State on ESPNU and a regionally aired Dec. 12 showdown at Richmond on CBS 6, the Lancer men added an ASN broadcast of the Jan. 30 game at UNC Asheville and an ESPN3 broadcast of the Feb. 20 matchup at Gardner-Webb.The Longwood women, meanwhile, will face Coastal Carolina on Jan. 4 on ESPN3 as the Game of the Week.

Those broadcasts give Longwood’s basketball programs 48 combined television or webstream appearances during the 2015-16 regular season. Of those, 43 will air live on the Big South Network, which features a free, high-quality video stream of every Longwood men’s and women’s home game in Willett Hall and every road Big South matchup online at www.BigSouthSports.com. All Longwood men’s basketball games also air live on WVHL 92.9 FM in Farmville, Va., and on Fox Sports Radio WHAP 1340 AM in Hopewell, Va.

The Longwood men’s team is also eligible for additional ESPNU appearances as one of the four ESPNU wildcard games on Jan. 14,Feb. 11, Feb. 18 or Feb. 25. Game choices for those additional Big South television appearances will be determined three weeks in advance of each date.

The Big South Men’s Basketball Championship title game will air on ESPN2 on Sunday, March 6, while ESPN3 will carry the quarterfinal and semifinal round of the tournament. The Big South Women’s Basketball Championship quarterfinals, semifinals and championship game will air on ESPN3.

ESPN3 is a destination that delivers thousands of global sports events annually and accessible online via WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app and streamed on televisions through Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It is currently available to more than 99 million homes at no additional cost to fans who receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider. The network is also available at no cost to approximately 21 million U.S. college students and U.S.-based military personnel via computers, smartphones and tablets connected to on-campus educational and on-base military broadband and Wi-Fi networks.

ASN parent Sinclair Broadcasting Group will distribute its basketball productions to its stations solely located in the Conference’s footprint of Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Sinclair’s broadcast stations will either carry the games and any original content as part of the primary program lineup (generally on the Company’s CW and MyNet affiliates) or as part of second channels (sub-channels of the primary station’s signal).
