Lang Lang to perform at the Paramount

AFP

Lang Lang is one of the most prolific and highest profile recording artists of our time. In great concert halls around the world, pianist Lang Lang   has played to standing room only crowds since his stunning debut at age 17 with the Chicago Symphony.

langNow 31, Lang Lang is acclaimed as a phenomenon who   transcends generations with his brilliant, appealingly humble, sensitive and   unique personal style. One of his mentors, famous pianist and conductor   Daniel Barenboim, has said of Lang Lang, perhaps only half-joking,”You   know he has eleven fingers. He plays the piano like a cat with eleven fingers.”

WHO: The Paramount Theater
WHAT: Lang Lang, Live in Concert, One Night Only
WHEN: Saturday, February 15, 2014
WHERE: THE PARAMOUNT THEATER

He inspires millions with open – hearted, emotive playing, whether it be in intimate recitals or on the grandest of stages – such as the Opening Ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where more than four billion people around the world viewed his performance, the Last Night of the Proms at London’s Royal Albert Hall, or the Liszt 200th birthday concert broadcast live to more than 500 cinemas around the US and Europe.

Time Magazine named Lang Lang to the “Time 100”, and The Today Show dubbed the phrase “the Lang Lang effect”. He has been featured on every major television network and in worldwide media outlets ranging from The New Yorker to Vogue, Esquire, 6o Minutes, Good Morning America, and many more.

Lang Lang’s Mozart and Chopin program at Carnegie Hall on February 4, 2014, eleven days before our concert, is approaching a sellout. His Sony recordings sell in the millions. The Paramount will welcome Lang Lang to Charlottesville on Saturday, February 15, 2014. He will play the same beautiful Mozart and Chopin program that he is presenting at Carnegie Hall.

An artist of this caliber in Charlottesville is quite spectacular and not to be missed! Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10am tomorrow, Friday, October 25, 2013.

*Sponsor Tickets help make it possible for The Paramount to bring Lang Lang to our community. These specially priced tickets include a $125 tax-deductible contribution toward his visit, prime keyboard side seats, name in concert program, and invitation to an informal pre-concert reception.
