Sixth District Democratic congressional nominee Ken Mitchell has the endorsement of National Security Leaders For America, a nonprofit representing more than 700 senior national security leaders.
“We served the nation because we believe it is the vanguard of democracy, committed to the rule of law, and grounded in the Constitution,” said retired Rear Admiral Michael Smith, founder and president of NSL4A, which cited in its endorsement Mitchell being “an outstanding, experienced leader dedicated to preserving and protecting our democracy.”
Mitchell is challenging Republican incumbent Ben Cline in the Sixth District race this fall.
Mitchell retired from the U.S. Army after 24 years in the active service, his last six years spent working in the White House, working under Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.
“We endorse Ken Mitchell because he will defend American democracy and values and protect all we swore an oath to protect,” said Smith, who founded NSL4A in 2021.
The nonprofit’s membership includes 15 retired admirals and generals, 10 former cabinet secretaries, 10 former service secretaries, and 148 former ambassadors
