Kaine, Shaheen lead Reopen the Government effort in Senate

Today, U.S Sens. Tim Kaine and Jeanne Shaheen are leading an effort on the Senate floor calling on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to allow Senators to vote on legislation to reopen the government and stop the Trump Shutdown.

Senators will join throughout the evening to give remarks calling on President Trump and Senate Republicans to end the shutdown which has left 800,000 federal employees furloughed or working without pay, including thousands of Virginians, and has hurt millions of Americans who cannot access government services.
