Joe Surratt joins Augusta Health Gastroenterology

augusta-health-headerJoe Surratt, NP-BC, a board-certified nurse practitioner, has joined the Augusta Health Gastroenterology office in Fishersville.  The practice is located at 70 Medical Center Circle, Suite 302, in the Medical Office Building on the main Augusta Health campus.  The office phone number is 540.245.7350.

A graduate of the University of Virginia with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Nursing, Surratt has more than 22 years of nursing experience, and 15 years of experience caring for patients with digestive diseases.  His professional interests include general gastroenterology, Hepatology, inflammatory bowel disease and reflux disease.  He is certified as an Adult/Gerontology-Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is a member of the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates.

“I look forward to helping patients and collaborating with other members of the healthcare team to provide the best care possible for each patient,” says Surratt.  “My many years of experience as a nurse and now with my added education as an advanced practice nurse will help me greatly as a provider of care.  I am very impressed with the staff at Augusta Health and everything it has to offer the patients, families and community.”

Surratt has volunteered with the Augusta Regional Free Clinic and was the co-founder of the Crohn’s and Colitis Support Group at the University of Virginia.
