JMU raced to a 27-0 lead at halftime and poured it on from there in a dominating 62-7 win over Towson on Saturday in Bridgeforth Stadium in Harrisonburg, Va.
James Madison (4-3, 2-2 CAA) got on the board in the first minute of the game on a 48-yard touchdown pass from Vad Lee to Brandon Ravenel that made it 6-0 Dukes 50 seconds into the game. Madison also got a pair of defensive touchdowns in the second quarter, on a 27-yard fumble recovery return by Rhakeem Stallings and a 26-yard interception return by Jimmy Moreland.
JMU outgained Towson (2-5, 0-3 CAA) 553-234, with quarterback Vad Lee throwing for 255 yards and three touchdowns, and the Dukes also gaining 268 yards on the ground on 43 attempts.
James Madison has a bye week next week before traveling to UNC-Charlotte on Oct. 25.
