Interstate 81 closures in Shenandoah County: Sept. 21-25

i81-headerThe Virginia Department of Transportation has scheduled overnight lane closures next week for paving operations and guardrail work in various locations on northbound Interstate 81 in Shenandoah County. The work will take place in the Mount Jackson and Woodstock areas, weather permitting.

Overnight lane closures are scheduled between mile markers 271.5 and 273.5 northbound on Sunday through Thursday nights (September 20-24), from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. the following mornings. In addition, motorists can expect daytime shoulder closures in this area for guardrail work on Friday, September 25, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Northbound lane closures are also scheduled between mile markers 282.8 and 285.9 on Monday through Thursday nights (September 21-24), from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following mornings. Off- and on-ramps at northbound exit 283 (Woodstock) will be narrowed during these times, but will remain open.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.

For other assistance call the VDOT Customer Service Center, available 24hours-a-day, seven days a week. Citizens can dial 1-800-FOR- ROAD (1-800-367-7623) from anywhere in the state to report road hazards, ask transportation questions, or get information related to Virginia’s roads.
