I-81 Exit 247B to close for four nights

The Interstate 81 northbound off-ramp at exit 247B in Harrisonburg will be closed for road work Aug. 12-15 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night. This is at exit 247 at Route 33.

  • I-81 northbound traffic exiting off I-81 at exit 247B:  Detour: use exit 247A to east Rte 33 U-turn to westbound Route 33.
  • I-81 northbound traffic exiting off I-81 at exit 247A: No detour, head eastbound on Route 33.
  • Eastbound Route 33 onto I-81 northbound:  Detour: use Route 33 eastbound to first traffic signal. Make a U-turn to westbound Route 33 and follow signs to the I-81 northbound on-ramp.

All work is weather permitting.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
