Hold on to your hats, literally, Shenandoah Valley, as wind gusts up to 55 miles per hour are possible on Monday.

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory from 7 a.m. Monday to 1 a.m. on Tuesday. Winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour are possible throughout the region.

The weather advisory covers a wide swath of three states including portions of north central Maryland, northwest and western Virginia and the panhandle in West Virginia.

Gusty winds will blow unsecured objects and tree limbs, and power outages are likely in the affected area.

The NWS also warns that wind could make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.
