Want to know more about crime scene collection or crisis negotiations? If you live, work or attend school in the City of Harrisonburg, you may apply to the Community Police Academy.

The academy is open to anyone ages 18 and up, applications will be accepted through Feb. 14.

The 10-week academy offers participants an in-depth look at the various divisions within the Harrisonburg Police Department through classroom discussions and hands-on scenarios.

The academy will be held from March 4 to May 6, each Tuesday night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Harrisonburg Police Department.

The agenda for the Harrisonburg Community Police Academy includes:
