Griffith supports bills to expand broadband access

AFP

morgan griffithThe House Energy and Commerce Committee today advanced bills in a full committee markup, including measures to expand broadband access. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) is cosponsoring the two bills promoting broadband and supported them in markup today.

He issued the following statement:

“The Energy and Commerce Committee made progress in a bipartisan manner on our priorities today, including connecting more Americans to broadband. The Precision Agriculture Connectivity Act would promote the deployment of broadband in agricultural areas. Its provisions offer aid to farmers in the Ninth District and other rural areas so they can compete and thrive in today’s marketplace. Also, the ACCESS BROADBAND Act would streamline the process of applying for federal funds to expand broadband access. I believe these measures will begin to help Americans, especially in rural areas, with inadequate access to broadband, a key infrastructural component of the 21st century economy.
