Good vibrations: Virginia Tech-funded research puts focus on wind farms

AFP

Many researchers are windy, but Jorge Arenas gets right to the point in this 90-second story on YouTube about why scientists must better understand the noise wind farms create.

Arenas is a faculty member in the Universidad Austral de Chile’s College of Engineering Sciences and director of its Institute of Acoustics. He is collaborating with Virginia Tech’s Ricardo Burdisso, mechanical engineering professor in the College of Engineering, on a research project funded by the Institute for Critical Technology and Applied Science and Outreach and International Affairs.
