Game Notes: #1 UVA plays #16 Hampton in NCAA Tournament first round

virginia basketballNo. 1 seed UVA  (26-7) plays No. 16 seed Hampton (21-10) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday, March 17. Tipoff at PNC Arena (19,700) in Raleigh, N.C., is set for approximately 3:10 p.m.

 

For Openers

  • UVA earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament, while Hampton earned the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference’s automatic bid.
  • The fourth-ranked Cavaliers, who earned their fifth No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and second in last three seasons, are making their third consecutive NCAA appearance and 20th overall.
