Fresh produce, local crafts on tap in the Town of Shenandoah

shen marketplaceShenandoah Marketplace and the Shenandoah Heritage Center have united to offer fresh local produce and locally-made artisan products at a farmers’ and artisans’ market at Stevens Cottage, 201 Maryland Avenue (Route #602) from 3-7 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month, June 4 through Oct. 1.

As a special opportunity for visitors gathering in the Town of Shenandoah for its 18th annual Memorial Day parade, Shenandoah Marketplace will present a sampler of its offerings at the Shenandoah Marketplace Kickoff on the grounds of Stevens Cottage from noon until 4 p.m. on May 23, 2015.

Among confirmed local vendors who will be participating are Dwight Kite, with fresh produce; Craig Lancto, with wall art, cards and prints of scenes In and Around the Town of Shenandoah, also the name of Craig’s 56-page magazine-format guide to what to see and do in the area;Clyde Jenkins White, with White Oak Baskets; and Mary Ellen Smith, who will spin wool and serve dandelion tea.

Vendors continue signing on and spaces are available.

This year only, as an incentive to qualified local vendors, there is no charge for participation.
