A Maine woman is dead, and a Florida man was injured, in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 in Frederick County on Monday.

Virginia State Police is investigating the 12:09 p.m. crash at the 309-mile marker.

Marsha F. Constantine, 28, of Orchard Beach, Maine, died at the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

According to VSP, Constantine was traveling southbound on I-81 in a Volkswagen Passat when she ran off the left side of the road, through the median and collided head on with a northbound Ford truck.

The driver of the Ford, a 49-year-old male from Lake Butler, Fla., suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Winchester Medical Center for treatment. He was wearing a seatbelt, according to police. His name was not released.

The crash remains under investigation.
