Foxfield Races continued its commitment to support philanthropic partners with a $50,406 donation to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville’s Southwood neighborhood.
The fall steeplechase races were held on Sunday, Oct. 6.
“We are proud to be able to amplify the message of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville and make an impactful donation,” said Kelsey Cox, the race’s executive director. “Together, we are making a difference in our community.”
Since the ownership change in 2020, Foxfield Racing LLC has donated more than $365,000 collectively to Habitat and Camp Holiday Trails for its spring and fall events.
“Coming together as a community to make the impossible a reality, is a common thread that unites the Foxfield Races and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville,” said Michelle Wamsley, chief advancement officer at Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville.
“Whether through preservation of open space where everyone can come together to enjoy steeplechase and fellowship, or through preservation and sustainable redevelopment of affordable communities that ensure all of our neighbors have a place to call home – we all win when we come together around what matters most.”
The spring races will take place on April 26, 2025, in Albemarle County.
