uva-logo-new2Former Virginia standout men’s golfer Steve Marino has regained his PGA Tour card. Marino was one of 25 golfers to qualify for the 2015-16 PGA Tour after finishing in the top 25 of the Web.com Tour Money List.

Following Sunday’s WinCo Foods Portland Open, Marino stood 19th on the Web.com Tour money list at $180,995.

The 35-year-old Marino battled back from injuries that sidelined him in recent years by playing the Web.com Tour in 2015. He will be looking to play his first full season on the PGA Tour since 2011.

A 2002 UVa graduate, Marino posted 21 top-10s from 2007 to 2011. After suffering a knee injury and then a broken leg in a boating accident, he played in just 31 PGA Tour tournaments from 2012 to 2014.

Marino had a two-year stretch on the PGA Tour where he was a runner-up four times and he tied for 14th at the 2010 Masters. He has 173 starts on the PGA Tour and earnings of more than $10 million.
