Update: Wednesday, 1:26 p.m. Due to tremendous response from the community, there are no longer any COVID-19 vaccination appointment slots available for 5- to 11-year-olds during the Fall Community Resource Festival at Kate Collins Middle School on Saturday.

Anyone who signed up will be receiving registration information shortly. We are still accepting walk-ins for COVID-19 vaccines for anyone 12 and up as space allows.

There are plenty of opportunities for 5- to 11-year-olds to get their COVID-19 vaccine throughout the Central Shenandoah Health District, including local pharmacies, health departments and pediatricians. CSHD staff will be onsite to assist families seeking vaccines for children ages 5-11 at the Resource Festival on Saturday.

To find a clinic near you, visit vase.vdh.virginia.gov, or call 877-VAX-IN-VA.

First report: Tuesday, 5:01 p.m. The Fall Community Resource Fair has been rescheduled to this Saturday at Kate Collins Middle School in Waynesboro from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, and Pfizer vaccines will be available free of charge, and include first, second and booster doses. Pfizer vaccines for children ages 5-11 will also be available pending CDC authorization.

This clinic is completely walk-in, but folks can sign up in advance here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/fallresourcefair

A clothes closet and food pantry will also be onsite for anyone interested, as well as two therapy dogs from Waynesboro Public Schools.
