A Waynesboro First Aid Crew vehicle responding to an emergency medical call struck a 2005 Nissan at the intersection of Broad Street and Wayne Avenue late Wednesday night, killing the driver of the Nissan and injuring two others.

Karen Kay Green, 56, of Waynesboro, died overnight at UVa. Medical Center, according to a news release from the Waynesboro Police Department.

A 13-year-old passenger in Green’s vehicle was taken to Augusta Health after the 9:40 p.m. Wednesday accident. The male was treated and released. The driver and lone occupant of the First Aid Crew vehicle, a 2005 Ford Explorer, was also transported to Augusta Health and released.

The accident is under investigation by the Waynesboro Police Department and the Virginia State Police crash reconstruction team.
