On May 28, 15 members and staff of East Rockingham Senior Center enjoyed the first Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL) class.
The program is shown to develop core strength and balance for adults 65 and older and reduces fall risk factors. Cindy Dove, Senior Center Director and JMU student and VPAS intern Dee Cooper instructed the first class on Wednesday. Staff members who participated, welcomed the class with positive attitudes and much enthusiasm.
The Senior Center plans to conduct the class twice a week.
