On May 28, 15 members and staff of East Rockingham Senior Center enjoyed the first Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL) class.


East Rockingham Senior Center Held Chick-fil-A Fundraiser

East Rockingham Senior Center held a VPAS fundraiser on May 20. Chick-fil-A provided donated coupons for breakfast items that dining guests could “spin to win” on their game board. Each spin cost a .50 cent donation to VPAS and every spin won a prize.

A Shenandoah Valley Championship Wrestling event, Summer Brawl 2014, will emanate from Spotswood High School in Penn Laird, Va., on Saturday, June 7, with a 7:30 p.m. bell time. The event is the debut event for the SVCW.

On April 14, 15 members and staff persons from East Rockingham Senior Center enjoyed a field trip to Valley Mall. Fifteen Center members got their daily exercise walking through Valley Mall. Several members took advantage of the opportunity to do some much needed shopping.

Valley Exxon Donated $220 in Gift Cards

Valley Exxon in Elkton donated $220 in gift cards to be used at Food Lion or Family Dollar. The cards, which are valued at $20 each, will be given to East Rockingham Senior Center members and Meals on Wheels recipients that “have the most need” for them. The cards will be distributed by Yvonne Shoemaker, Interim Center Director and Karen Barnes, Case Manager.
