Driver of white pickup truck sought in four-vehicle accident on Interstate 95

A passenger in a crash in Spotsylvania County on Tuesday morning has died, according to Virginia State Police.

Andrea Vernot, 64, succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident.

A second passenger, Mark A. Vernot, 61, suffered serious injuries. The driver of the Toyota, Matthew J. Vernot, 31, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., was not injured.

The driver of the Nissan that hydroplaned, Isis J. Torres Ramirez, 48, of Lutz, Fla., was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.

Virginia State Police have concluded that there was no white pickup truck involved in the crash. The crash began when the Nissan Kicks hydroplaned on wet roads.

Virginia State Police are working to locate a white pickup truck involved in a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 southbound in Spotsylvania County this morning.

The crash occurred at 8:54 a.m. at the 120 mile marker.

The hit-and-run crash injured three people, one with serious injuries.

The preliminary investigation shows the crash began when the unknown white pickup truck bumped into a Nissan Kicks. The Nissan then hit guardrail, spun out and struck a Toyota Highlander. The Highlander was then struck by a tractor trailer.

Two passengers in the Highlander suffered injuries; an occupant in the Kicks had minor injuries, according to police.

No names have been released.
