Interstate 664 northbound in Newport News is currently closed after a four-vehicle fatal crash.
Virginia State Police report there is one confirmed fatality, and one additional person has been transported to the hospital with injuries; the severity is unknown.
The crash occurred near exit four, according to VSP.
Photos released by VSP show two passenger vehicles and a Layman Brothers Contracting box truck with damage from the accident. The photographs also show debris from the accident scattered in multiple lanes on the interstate.
The crash remains under investigation.
