Democrats: Del. Bell chooses Tea Party ideology over calls from Virginia constituents

dickie bellLast night in Waynesboro, Republican Delegate Dickie Bell held a town hall with Koch Brother funded Americans for Prosperity.

However even at a town hall put in place by party-of-no opponents for closing the coverage gap, Delegate Bell was confronted by a crowd of Virginians pleading with him to support expansion. And instead of listening to Virginia residents and hard-working constituents that fall in the coverage gap, Delegate Bell followed his extreme Tea Party leaders in the House of Delegates, unwilling to compromise on a way to expand healthcare to 400,000 uninsured Virginians.

Dickie Bell and his Tea Party House Republican colleagues refuse to listen to their constituents who are pleading with them to close the coverage gap,” said Democratic Party of Virginia Press Secretary Ashley Bauman. “It’s time for Dickie Bell, Bill Howell, and Kirk Cox to look their constituents in the eye and compromise on a plan to close the coverage gap.”
