Shannon Taylor, a candidate for the Democratic Party nomination for attorney general in the 2025 election cycle, will be in Staunton on Tuesday for a meet and greet hosted by the Staunton Democratic Committee.

The event, to be held at Montgomery Hall Park, begins at 6 p.m.

Taylor is the elected Commonwealth’s Attorney in Henrico County, winning the seat in an upset in 2011.

She announced her candidacy for the AG nomination in June.

“When MAGA extremists push laws that punish women for making private healthcare decisions, women need to fight back. And when our extremist attorney general tries to deprive our LGBTQ+ friends and neighbors of their rights, we need to stand strong. I won’t let Jason Miyares, Glenn Youngkin or any MAGA extremist strip women of our fundamental reproductive rights or discriminate against any minority,” Taylor said in her announcement.

The Tuesday event in Staunton will also feature candidates for Staunton City Council and the Staunton School Board.
