beverley street studio schoolBeverley Street Studio School hosts Daniel Scogna’s show, Forest Murmurs, which opens on Friday, June 22 at the school’s downtown gallery at 22 W. Beverley St., Staunton.

There will be a public reception on Friday2 from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm and an Artist’s Talk at 6 pm, both of which are free and open to the public.

Regular gallery hours are Tuesday through Thursday and Saturday 10am-5pm, Friday 10am-8pm, and Sunday 1pm-5pm. The BSSS Gallery is housed within the CoArt Gallery and the entire exhibition space is always free and visitors are always welcome.

Scogna’s glass work is a reaction to observations he makes in his surroundings. He distills elements of the observed landscape that capture the experience of a particular season or location. Daniel says these observations are “often made through the window of a moving automobile during my daily commute, having a fleeting sense of time and space.”

Scogna has a BFA in Glass and a minor in Enameling from the Cleveland Institute of Art and an MFA in Glass from Illinois State University. He has taught at Sunspots Studio in Staunton, Virginia Commonwealth University, the School of Art at Illinois State University, and the Snow Farm Craft High School Program in Williamsburg, Massachusetts.
